Public Invited to Meridian Anti-Drug Coalition’s 18th Annual Recovery Day Breakfast

WHO: Mayor Robert Simison and Meridian Anti-Drug Coalition (MADC) Director Kendall Nagy will provide introductions. The featured speaker will be Amanda Davison, Director of Clinical Outreach for Charlie Health.

WHAT: The Meridian Anti-Drug Coalition (MADC) presents the 18th Annual Recovery Day Breakfast, held during the Month of September in honor of National Recovery Month.

“We hope you will join us for this special recovery celebration. The strength, courage and vulnerability our guest speaker shares is inspiring to say the least. Coming together for this annual event helps remind us we all have a role in supporting each other,” said Kendall Nagy, MADC Director.

Guest speaker Amanda Davison, Director of Clinical Outreach for Charlie Health, will share her story of maintaining sobriety after recently losing her partner and younger brother to suicide completion. Amanda carries a message of experience, strength, and hope; prioritizing connecting with others, emphasizing self-care, and believes that together we can do the hard things.

“Thank you to MADC for continuing to bring these conversations to the forefront and staying committed to the quality of life for all Meridian residents,” said Mayor Robert Simison. “Events like this are a great reminder of the impacts of addiction and that recovery is possible. Congratulations to all that have and continue to work toward recovery and I urge anyone struggling with addiction to reach out to friends and family for support and utilize local resources.”
